TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

Important notice:  Your booking for these vacations involves an agreement between you and those who provide the services.  Travel – World Discovery does not own, manage, control or operate any transportation vehicle, hotel, resort, cruise ship, restaurant or other supplier of services and is not responsible for their acts or omissions .It is important that you read the terms and conditions prior to booking your vacation.

PRICE

The prices quoted on the website are shown in US dollars only to give you a better understanding of the actual cost.  Currency exchange values vary and therefore the prices are but approximate costs.

PAYMENT

All payments are dependent on the individual vacation you have chosen. To protect you from the need to inflate costs because of fluctuation in exchange rates, we suggest you provide Travel – World Discovery with a down payment, in the currency agreed upon.  This minimal deposit will cover the fees to confirm the reservations with the suppliers and to pay for the consultation fee. When you are traveling, you will then remit payment directly to the suppliers – similar to the procedures you would follow if you had made the reservations yourself.

CANCELLATION

The original deposit is non-refundable.  In addition, if part of your group is canceling and the price quoted was based on a group rate, prices may change for everyone involved.  Each case will be reviewed individually.  However, cancellations can affect overall costs.

CHANGES TO ITINERARY

Any change to the original itinerary represents extra time.  A minimum fee of $25. US will be charged depending on the complexity of the change.

 BEFORE YOU GO

Passports

You will need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond completion of the tour.  Due to airline security measures, the name on your passport should match the name on your airline ticket and tour reservation.  It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain, at his own expense, all documentation required by all relevant government authorities, and this may vary depending on citizenship status.  Special documentation may be required for minors traveling alone and for single parents traveling with children.  It is suggested that prior to departure, the passenger ascertains the documentation required by the destination or the carrier, the carrier reserves the right to refuse passage.

SPECIAL NOTICE

It is important that travelers to Europe be in reasonably good health.  Most tours require walking.  Many sites have limited motor coach access and involve stairs and inclines: some places visited are centuries old with cobblestone streets and uneven ground.  Any person who needs assistance with walking, dining or personal needs must have a companion to assist them.

Each excursion is allotted a specific amount of time and this time cannot be exceeded.  It may therefore be impossible for some travelers to visit all scheduled stops on the excursion.   You may want to consult a physician for departure health advice. 

It is important proper clothing be worn while visiting religious buildings.  Shorts should not be worn and women should always cover their shoulders.

COMPLIANCE

The passenger agrees to comply with any reasonable instructions issued by  Travel - World Discovery or its representative relating to the tour.  The passenger waives any claim against Travel – World Discovery for loss, damages or injury for any reason or by any result of the rendering of any of the services contained in this information package.

HOLIDAYS AND MUSEUM SCHEDULES

There are many religious, state and local holidays in Europe, some of which may disrupt museum visits and personal shopping time. It is not uncommon for the Vatican to close early because of the Pope’s security.  Also, some museums may close on days that are not consistent with other museums. We try to avoid problems using local knowledge.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Special requests, for example, room locations, adjoining rooms, bed preferences, dining requirements, etc., cannot be guaranteed by Travel – World Discovery.  While Travel – World Discovery will attempt to accommodate such special requests, Travel – World Discovery cannot be held responsible if such special requests cannot be fulfilled or extra costs are involved.

ITINERARY CHANGES AND FLEXIBILITY

Travel – World Discovery pledges to make every effort to operate all tours as indicated.  Travelers should be flexible as situations may arise, voluntarily or involuntarily, that necessitate schedule changes or exceptions to the itinerary.  On these occasions, Travel – World Discovery reserves the right to alter or curtail the itinerary and substitute hotels, and/or conveyances as deemed necessary.  Any savings realized by these changes will be refunded to passengers.

INCREASE IN COSTS

The prices advertised in this information package are based on fixed costs at the time of  printing.  These costs are dependant on fuel costs, rates of exchange and other factors.  Should these costs increase, Travel – World Discovery reserves the right to increase the price.  Should the price increase greater than 7%, the consumer has the right to cancel the contract for the travel service and obtain a full refund of all amounts paid to Travel – World Discovery unless the price increase is the result of government taxation.  Every effort will be made to advise the passenger of any price increase at least 15 days prior to your holiday departure date.

CLAIMS

The traveler agrees that any claim against Travel – World Discovery shall be made by the traveler immediately, so the situation may perhaps be settled immediately.  This should be made via telephone, e-mail or fax.  If the problem is not resolved, the traveler must continue the claim in writing.  It must be received by Travel – World Discovery no later than 30 days after the event causing the claim.   Claims or demands which have not followed the above procedures will not be responded to.  Claims must be in writing and sent by registered mail to the address of Travel – World Discovery, below, prior to the commencement of any legal proceeding and under no circumstances shall you claim from Travel – World Discovery an amount in excess of the costs of the vacation paid by you to Travel – World Discovery.

TRAVEL – WORLD DISCOVERY’S

RESPONSIBILITY

Travel – World Discovery acts only as a consultant and adviser for participants. Travel – World Discovery makes arrangements with coach companies, transfer operators, shore excursion operations, hotels and other independent parties to provide you with the travel services and other services you purchase.  Although Travel – World Discovery takes reasonable care in selecting these suppliers, Travel – World Discovery is unable and does not have any control over them and therefore cannot be responsible for their acts or omissions.

Travel – World Discovery shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury, whether physical or mental, resulting from any delay, substitution of equipment, or any act , omission, negligence or commission of any party supplying any of the services or accommodation herein, its agents, servants, employees, subcontractors, or for any claims for such loss, damage or injury, whether physical or mental, arising there from, or from any cause that arises by reason of actions of parties other than Travel – World Discovery.  Travel – World Discovery reserves the right to decline any passenger as a member of these tours at any time.

CANCELLATION OF SERVICES

In the event that certain services are cancelled, Travel – World Discovery will have no responsibility beyond the refund of all monies received by Travel – World Discovery, for the said cancelled services, which will be deemed to constitute full settlement.
